The Guardian has a big get in this morning’s edition.

Emails seen by the Guardian show that the Amazon executive Anne Rung communicated with a top official at the General Services Administration (GSA) about the approach the government would take to create the new portal, even before the legislation that created it – known to its critics as the “Amazon amendment” – was signed into law late last year.

The new multi-billion dollar portal is expected to generate billions in business for Amazon, essentially boosting its near-monopoly status. The e-mails, written over a year ago, should cause concern for anyone interested in the kind of no-bid corruption that has run rampant since the Reagan Administration.
