Donald Trump’s desire to buy Greenland escalated into an international confrontation this week after he abruptly canceled a trip to Denmark, claiming the country’s prime minister had been “nasty” to him when she called the idea “absurd”.

Overnight, Jay Inslee, the Democratic governor of Washington who made climate change the focus of his presidential campaign, has dropped out of the race after failing to qualify for the third primary debate. The Associated Press is reporting Inslee is planning to seek a third term as governor.
